BUS DRIVERS NEEDED

QUALIFICATIONS: 1. At least 21 years of age. 2. Possess a valid Class B, CDL Georgia Driver’s License 3. Physical examination by a licensed Doctor of Medicine within 60 days prior to the date of employment. 4. Minimum of two years’ driving experience. 5. No addiction to the use of alcohol or narcotic drugs. REPORTS TO: Transportation/Maintenance Director. Operates under the supervision of the school principal. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assumes personal responsibility for obeying all traffic laws and for compliance with the regulations of the Department of Public Safety governing the operation of school buses. 2. Assumes major responsibility for the safety of children on the bus conforming to safety regulations. 3. Conducts a daily five-minute walk-around and inside safety check of the bus. Cleans bus daily and washes at least monthly. 4. Reports damages to the interior of the bus to the appropriate principal. 5. Assumes responsibility for sanitary condition of bus. Cleans bus daily and washes at least once monthly. 6. Maintains discipline when students are on the bus. Reports behavior problems and student damage to the bus to the appropriate principal. 7. Follows assigned schedule, arriving at school with students no earlier than necessary and discharging students only at authorized stops. 8. Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness. 9. Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips. 10. Transports only authorized students. 11. Reports all accidents and completes required reports. 12. Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus. 13. Performs other duties as requested by the Transportation/Maintenance Director or a principal. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine Month Year (180 days) Salary in accordance with state and local index. EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Bus Safety Coordinator.
